Forest Formulas - an outdoor math learning activity

Last week I prototyped a series of outdoor math tasks designed to have kids explore different aspects of the Nature of Mathematics.  A page has been made that outlines the activity, including templates and learning examples.

Turtle Back Systems and more Math of Story activities

Linked above is a new page to take you to the growing Turtle Back Systems initiative to explore math from a First Nations perspective in a student-centred manner.

Also, the Story of Math has more activities added to be part the first iteration prototyping with my regular math classes tomorrow.

The Math of Stories Tasks

Over the next few days I will be putting up various activities for students to do around exploring the Math of Stories.  These will all be housed on a sub-page of this site.
